Statements
Sports Boules Singapore strives to be the leading body for the Petanque and Sport Boules games in Singapore through channel partners who will add value to the sport; by sanctioning all games and level of competition with internationally recognized rules and regulations; so as to maintain the highest level of competition and gamesmanship through a people-oriented management.
History of Sports Boules
Singapore
Created in 1989 to promote the sport of Petanque to the general public. First introduced to Singaporean as a recreational exercise for senior citizens in 1985 by the People's Association and the Singapore Sports Council. It takes the Federation many years to change the mindset of the public, that Petanque is a "SPORT FOR ALL AGES". Today , we are coaching peoples from primary, secondary, Junior Colleges and Polytechnics in this sport.
Today we have 18 affiliates with many registered petanque players. Junior members are increasing in numbers and training are carried out everyday for players in order to prepare them for the SEA Games, World Championships, Asian Championships and regional competitions. Good players are being sent to Bangkok for training and c
ompetitions.
